Bucket List for 2015

For the past couple years, I always have found that I didn't really have any memorable memories to keep with me forever. I want this year to be different. I want to fill it with memories that I'll talk about for years to come. This is my personal bucket list. Feel free to share your bucket list with me! Maybe I'll find something there I'd like to do.
  • Buy a train ticket to go to New York and see Gigi on Broadway
  • Go camping for a weekend
  • Buy a plant and take care of it for the whole summer
  • Learn a new dish
  • Go to a music festival
  • Make my own personal cookbook
  • Read a book that I have never read before
  • Spend a day walking around in the city
  • Get a job!
  • Go to the Shedd Aquarium
  • Eat at a restaurant I've never been to.
As I come up with new things that I want to do for the year to accomplish I'll add it to the list here and when I accomplish something that's on my bucket list I'll cross it out here and post pictures of it.

Greetings again! I'm sorry for the lack of posts (again!). My sister came up for the holiday and blogging was the last thing on my mind since I rarely get to see her. I am a bit late but might as well say it, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! I hope everyone had a great holiday. Now that holidays are over, and a new year has begun, we've all made resolutions. This year, I will make an effort to follow through with my resolutions. So far I've only come up with a few resolutions, update my blog more often, stop saying 'like' so much and become healthy and fit. Since the year has begun, I'd say I'm doing pretty well.

I'm not saying 'like' as much as I did. I said 'like' between almost every word at one point. Then I read a post on Tumblr that went something like this, "Since when did said become like?" After reading that I decided to stop using 'like' so often. It came to me that using this word made me feel so uneducated. 'Like', to me, is a filler word that people use when they don't know what to say. I've noticed, as well, how often this word is used when people converse. It's agitating when people use this word when it isn't needed. Plus me being an English/Grammar nazi, it takes everything in me not to point out how many times that person said the word 'like' in a sentence. I think this is a very simple resolution but it can also be empowering. You learn more words to substitute 'like.'

On to my next resolution! Which is also the main subject of this post. For most of 2013, I was figuring on my own how to live a healthy lifestyle. In 2013, I had the desire to learn some recipes to make at home. One of the things I learned is to always get food on the edges, AKA on the walls. Never in the aisles. The food in the aisles are usually processed and, of course, aren't good for you. The food along the edges, have almost no preservatives. Although there are chemicals in them to make the food look better, it's still a lot better than the foods in the aisles. A couple days ago, my friend came to me asking if I could be her motivator to become healthy and fit. Of course, how could I say no to that? It's a perfect opportunity for myself to keep my resolution. For this year, I will be making posts of what workouts and exercise I'll be doing, what my workout schedule is like, and what foods I'll be eating. I'll post some recipes as well. I really love to cook. Even though it takes about an hour to cook and just 15 minutes to eat. The struggle. I'm not a professional trainer or a professional dietitian so please do not ask for professional help. I am solely making these posts to give some sort of guidance to people who feel lost and need help or motivation to become and/or stay healthy. It's a brutal journey to become healthy and fit - mentally and physically. Some days you'll be craving something sweet. Some days you'll feel like you've made no progress. Some days you feel like giving up. Some days you don't feel like going to the gym. When you're going for a run, your mind will tell you to stop running because you feel that you've already ran enough and your legs are killing. Your mind will be your worst enemy during this. I know you'll be able to do this and so will I. You just need some faith in yourself. Let's not forget determination and motivation.

I can't wait to start making posts about becoming healthy and fit. I hope this will motivate you to become healthy and fit. #crisgetshealthy I made a hashtag for this. How cool!

It's been quite a few busy weeks! I'm sorry for the lack of posting and updating. Class has been over and done with for the past week and I've been relaxing and chilling with friends and family. I'm already signed up for classes next term and I can't be anymore excited than I already am. I hope everyone did and is doing well with finals.
In just a week, Christmas will be here. I can't believe Christmas is almost here. I can't even believe it's been a whole year. I've gone through quite a lot this year, and I can't begin to explain how far I've gone as an individual. Now the new year is close and we become more in-tune with ourselves, but usually that last for like 3 weeks at the most and then we're back to our old habits. We then choose what our New Year's Resolution will be. My New Year's Resolution is going to be to stop saying 'like' so much. I say that word so often in my conversations and I feel so unintelligent and uneducated when I use that word. If you guys want to tell me what your New Year's Resolution is, I'd love to hear them! So don't be shy to leave a comment below of your resolution for the year.

Wow! What a week! There's a lot to cram in to this post but I'll try to make it brief. And Happy Thanksgiving to my American readers! I hope you had all the turkey, sweet potato, mashed potatoes, pumpkin pie, cranberry, and bread that you wanted! My thanksgiving was just splendid. It was so yummy and delicious. Thanksgiving has to be my favorite holiday because of the food. I even had some apple cider! So delish! Then to top it off, I saw Les Miserables after celebrating thanksgiving. What a beautiful play. Good to know it still makes me cry like a baby.

This past week, I went to two concerts. Both local bands. They are so good though! Wednesday, I went to go see Savior Self for their acoustic show. They played 5 songs. Two of them were covers from Alkaline Trio and Drake. Which I've got to say, I'm not a big Drake fan but he did a splendid job covering Drake. The singer did even better than Drake. I'm planning to see them again December 22 so if any of my local readers sees this, you should definitely come to their Christmas show at the House of Blues. We can chat and have an awesome time listening to some rock music! If you wear Christmas stuff, you'll get free merch from Savior Self! How awesome is that?! And just last night I saw Storm The Front, AGAIN! Naturally, they were friggen superb. Every one of my readers should check them out. They're pretty darn good. You can find Savior Self on YouTube and iTunes, and you can find Storm The Front on YouTube, Spotify, and iTunes.

I will post my Thanksgiving outfit sometime soon. I've been crammed with homework lately. These teachers must think we don't have a life outside of school or something.

Have a good week, my readers. Christmas holiday is just getting near! One and a half more weeks and I'll be free from classes for a month. Good luck with exams and homework for the next few weeks. I know it'll be hard to focus when freedom is right at the tip of your tongue. We can do it!

So recently, I've been getting told I dress like the 90s babies generation of Hipster. If that even makes any sense? This is just what people tell me. So I'll term it as 'Our Generation' of hipster dressing. Since winter is finally coming in, I've been dressing very warmly, and I'll say it, as a 'White Girl' when I go out for classes, but when I go out I do dress nicely like this. Don't hate the white girl style. When you live in a very cold area you will be wearing yoga pants, north face, and ugg boots. :P

For tonight, I went out for some relaxation at this place (which I can not name for personal reasons) for some chit chat and then later to go see Catching Fire! I can not even explain how magnificent the movie was. I had high hopes for it because director, Francis Lawrence, is one of the best directors in Hollywood. He directed one of my favorite movies, Water For Elephants, which was beautiful as well! So of course, I knew he would do a splendid job with Catching Fire and he reached and surpassed my expectations for this movie. All my favorite scenes were in the movie. That's a first. The clothes were just absolutely exquisite. Katniss's clothes were just beautiful. From the second she appeared on the screen till the very end. And the actors! I knew Sam Claflin, AKA Finnick Odair, would just do amazing! If you don't know what other movie's he's been in, he was in Pirates of the Caribbean and Snow White and the Huntsman. Jena Malone, AKA Johanna Mason, may just be my new women crush! She stole every scene. And I did enjoy that elevator scene. Peeta, Katniss, and Haymitch's faces were a perfect representation of how a person would react. Needless to say, I recommend everyone to watch this movie. Can't wait for Mockingjay: Part 1! Just 360 days left! Not that I'm counting or anything. Happy Monday and have a good week! More posts to come soon!

My first music post! I'm really excited about this. I wasn't sure who I wanted my first music post to be about but I decided it should be this band. This is definitely not the kind of music I usually listen to. But recently, my taste in music has changed significantly. I went from mainstream to indie in .01 seconds. So I'm open to listening to any kind of music at the moment. My friend introduced me to this band a few months ago. They're a local band in Des Plaines. And for a local band they're pretty well known. I say Storm The Front, and bam, someone says they know the members in the band. They're also very good. Like REALLY good. I saw them live a couple weeks ago and during the whole concert I was headbanging. Even one of the band members noticed how much fun I was having. After the concert, I met the members and they're all very nice, humble, and let's not forget, cute! I think to enjoy STF, you do need to be a bit open with music. I had my sister listen to it, and she's strictly artsy fartsy music, and she did not like them one bit. But they are very talented musicians. I enjoy their music so much that I'm actually going to another one of their shows again at the end of November! And baking red velvet brownies for them too. They're in for a sweet delicious treat after eating all the turkey they had! So take a listen and tell me what you think of it! I, for one, love their songs. The bass is pretty hot too.

Today I met someone you may or may not know. Janel Parrish, the girl who plays Mona in Pretty Little Liars. It was a two and a half hour wait but it was pretty worth it to meet her. She's sweet, kind and very approachable. I'm surprised I wasn't starstruck. She's so tiny too like me! That's probably another reason why I was so comfortable talking to her because she's just a few inches taller than me. She was originally supposed to stay till 3:30 and we didn't meet her till about 4. It was really nice of her to extend her meet and greet. Don't forget part 2 of season 4 of Pretty Little Liars comes back January 7. Keep your eye out for A. She's always got her eye on you!

P.S I am currently looking for someone to take pictures of my style posts. I'd mostly prefer someone who lives near me. If any of my friends or people who attend the college I'm at does photography please shoot me an e-mail.
